Katie Gearty sings in clubs and studios, at festivals and theaters, and for private events all over the Midwest and beyond. With a versatile voice that mixes jazz, soul, rock and pop, Katie has been honored to perform with many of Minnesota’s most talented musicians. Since 2009 Katie has been one of the female leads in Adam Levy’s Twin Cities super group Sunshine Committee (formerly Hookers & Blow, sunshinempls.com). In May 2011, Katie was excited to join Minneapolis Legend Mick Sterling & Cate Fierro in the 9-piece power house soul/r&b band, The Irresistibles and has continued working with them in various Mick Sterling Presents showcases. In 2010 she joined Colleen Raye’s Girl Singers, performing across county and in town with ‘The Sirens of The 60’s’ and ‘Broadways Best’. Katie has recently started performing with Lori Dokken and her female centric singer showcases at The History Theater and The Ordway. She has been a featured performer in many of Julius Collins’ ‘Collins Live’ showcases since 2015 including Bowie,Marvin Gaye, George Michael and Prince tribute shows, featuring founding members of Prince’s NPG and Twin Cities best musicians. Katie has enjoyed spending more time in the studio in the last decade doing voice over work and singing on projects that range from TV bumper music and cataloged country, pop, hip hop and r&b music, to cell phone ringtones! In January of 2013 Katie completed her 2nd CD featuring the music of Collide Theatrical’s presentation of the live music and dance show “Lot of living to Do” directed and choreographed by Regina Peluso. Collide Theatrical is where musicians, actors and the cities best dancers collide! ‘Dance Til You Drop’, a smashing success at The History Theater early 2018, ’The Great Gatsby’ ,’The Picture of Dorian Gray’ at The Park Square Theater and coming in spring of 2020 ‘Romeo & Juliet’ at The Cowles Center are all Collide projects that Katie sings and performs in.
